Generation Google Scholarship – Europe, Middle East and Africa –

The Generation Google Scholarship for Women in Computer Science was created by Google to help women from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa who are interested in computer science as well as women pursuing undergraduate degrees to excel in technology and become leaders in the field.

The program aims to bridge the gender equality gap in the gaming and technology industry, and is open to qualified applicants who meet all minimum requirements. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic background, the strength of each applicant’s impact on diversity, and leadership skills.

Who can apply?

Generation Google Scholarship: Women in Games:

Registered as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the 2024-2024 academic year.
Intend to study or be accepted as a full-time student at a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. program at an accredited university in Africa, Europe, or the Middle East for the academic year 2024-2024.
Be studying video game engineering, game programming, game design or development, or any related field in games.
Demonstrate a strong academic record.
Demonstrate leadership and drive to improve women’s participation in the Google Scholarship for Generation Gaming: Women in Computer Science.
Registered as an undergraduate or graduate student at a university for the 2024-2024 academic year.
Intend to study or be accepted as a full-time student at a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. program at an accredited university in Africa, Europe, or the Middle East for the academic year 2024-2024.
Study computer engineering, computer science, or any related technical field.
Demonstrate a strong academic record.
Demonstrate leadership and motivation to improve representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology Google Scholar for Generation: Women in Computer Science in Ireland.
Registered as a first or second year undergraduate student at a university in Ireland for the academic year 2024-21.
Intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a university in Ireland for at least the 2024-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years.
Study computer engineering, computer science, or any related technical field.
Demonstrate a strong academic record.
Demonstrate leadership and drive to improve representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.

Applicants will have to complete an online application that includes:

General basic information such as contact information and details about the candidate’s current and target universities.
CV/CV.
Academic transcripts from the applicant’s current and previous institutions if they have earned a previous degree.
A letter of reference from a teacher, professor, advisor, or supervisor.
Answers to four short-answer essay questions.
